This Galileo thermometer 34cm is a truly beautiful thermometer with multi coloured temperature reading balls.

Contains 5 internal temperature globes with temperature reading tags( picture shows 5) Tags are gold coloured and read temperatures between 18-26C.

History of the Galileo

The physicist Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) discovered that density of liquid changes according to temperature. This principle is used within the Galileo Thermometer, Depending on the temperature, the glass bulbs in the thermometer either rise or fall. The actual temperature is shown by the lowest of the upper floating glass coloured bulbs.

These Traditional Galileo's are top quality and not to be confused with cheaper imitations. Made from blown glass in Germany they really do make a perfect gift that will be admired- certainly not another dust collector.

I placed the orderon the Monday afternoon by phone to explain the urgency. Thelady I spoke to was very helpful. It arrived the next morning Tuesday at 7.30 a.m. - the packing had been damaged but the thermometer was OK. Very good service.service.


My daughter bought me one for as a replacement after my grandson broke my previous one (not one of yours). I told her I didn't really want one as I wasn't impressed with the way it worked. However I am over the moon with this one, it takes pride of place standing high on the mantlepiece and works perfect, giving the same temperature as our digital central heating room thermostat. A good purchase.

I have owned this thermometer for over 6 years now and it is as good looking as the day I bought it. The themometer has been greatly admired, and been an interesting topic of conversation by visitors to our home, I have actually bought them in different sizes for several of my friends and family members, and have just 'treated' myself to the 'big brother.' Bought as a 65th Birthday Present for my Brother -in-Law and wanted something a little different. It arrived well packed & intact two days after the send date. I think it's very nice & original but will have to wait until the 28th for his reaction.


I was looking for something for my dad's 70th birthday, I found the galileo thermometer was perfect. It was something unusual. He loved it, so I'm really pleased with it.


Excellent quality and packaging. The instruction pamphlet was rather small, indistinctly printed and is worthy of revision to make it more readable and user friendly. However having said that, I was pleased to find that the temperature indicated by the new Galileo was the same as indicated by a similar German Galileo purchased from elsewhere and proved to be accurate using a correct mercury thermometer.
