4X4 Driving Experience Description

Wheels churning and axles grinding, learn the skills of observation, planning and manoeuvring as you tackle side slopes, steep inclines and rutted tracks of amazingly challenging terrain. This course is both fun and serious skills acquisition all rolled into one. Your instructor will soon have you driving off-road like an expert, and you'll certainly regard 4WD vehicles with new respect in future.

Introduction to off-road handling techniques as part of a small group

What happens on the day: When you arrive, you will normally be asked to sign an indemnity form which will also require parental/guardian signature for under 18’s. Your session will usually be shared with other drivers. You will be given an initial briefing, followed by detailed training from an instructor before being allowed to drive the vehicle yourself under his/her guidance once you are judged to be safe enough.

Need to know:

Minimum age 16-18 depending on location (under 18’s need parental/guardian consent)
You should be in reasonable health and agile enough to climb into the vehicle
Hold a full UK Driving licence at some locations and for a minimum of 1 year depending on location
Minimum height 5’-5’2” (152cms-157cms), max height 6’3”-6’7” (191cms-201cms) depending on location.
Maximum weight 18-20 stones (114kgs-127kgs) depending on location
