Finding the ideal teacher gift
It’s that time of year again. It is coming to the end of the school year, classes are just starting to wind down and parents are running around finding things to amuse the kids for 6 weeks. But, if your child is moving schools, changing tutors or simply going to a different year group then they may well be leaving one of their favourite teachers behind. This can actually be quite sad for him or her especially if the teacher helped them a lot in class.
If your child can’t stop talking about a certain teacher in a positive way then chances are they are his or her favourite teacher. So, if they are leaving them behind they may want to get him or her a small gift to say thank you for everything and possibly I will miss you.
But, the question is what do you buy your child’s teacher as a leaving gift. The best thing to do is to talk to your son or daughter about her. Ask them a few questions such as what they are like as a teacher? Is there anything they enjoy that they mention in class? Once you have started them talking you most likely won’t be able to get them to stop talking for quite some time but this may help as it will give you plenty of information to work on. Also, if you have been to a parent’s evening and met him or her recently then try and remember what he or she was like.
Another idea when buying a teacher gift is to ask your child what they would like to buy them. This could go one of two ways; they could either say something sensible such as; something to wear or a piece of jewellery, or they could say something completely out of the ordinary and impossible such as a space ship or a car.
The traditional teacher gift is usually flowers and chocolate which still make a perfectly nice gift but if you wanted to go one step further with this traditional teacher gift then you could buy a personalised bar of chocolate for his or her teacher to enjoy. With this teacher gift you can get your son or daughter to come up with a message to be printed on the back of the chocolate to make it extra special for the teacher.
But, if you want to go for a teacher gift that is a bit different than simply chocolates and flower then there is plenty to choose for. If you know that his or her teacher likes to look good and is quite a stylish teacher then you may want to get a teacher gift match this. If it is a male teacher you could buy a pair of stylish cufflinks, and for a female teacher you could buy her a nice piece of jewellery.
If you want to make these gifts extra special if he or she has been especially good to your child then you may want to get a personalised teacher gift for them. Personalised gifts are perfect for showing someone how much you appreciate them and would be perfect for the child to show their teacher how much they will miss him or her. There is a wide variety of this style of gifts and is guaranteed to have something the teacher would appreciate.
However, whether you buy a personalised gift or not, the teacher is sure to appreciate the gift from the child as it shows their appreciation of their teacher and shows that he or she is not taken for granted; so don’t worry about spending a lot of money on a teacher gift, they are sure to appreciate even just a small token gift.
