Maintaining Your 6 x 4 Photo Frames
If you are planning to use
6 x 4 photo frames in your home or office you will find a lot of selections in craft stores and over the web, and the good thing is they don’t cost as much as other frames do. It is important however that you have basic information on how to care for your photo frames if you want to make them last. A lot of people throw away frames that are of no use anymore because of damage and improper maintenance. If you’re the type of person who has a lot of frames given by friends and family you would of course want to make them last as long as possible.
Caring for your
6 x 4 photo frames is relatively easy to do. If you notice dust and dirt beginning to accumulate on the frame get a piece of soft cloth and wipe it down. You can also use a damp cloth to make it more effective if the frame is made of wood or metal. Do not wipe a cardboard frame with a damp cloth as this will cause the cardboard to deteriorate. After wiping the frame and its borders you can choose to wipe it again with a dry cloth to take off any moisture remaining on the surface of the frame.
Do not place your 6 x 4 photo frames on walls or table top surfaces where there is direct sunlight, as this will affect the quality of the material. Sunlight may cause the colour of the 6 x 4 frames to fade, therefore leaving you with dull looking frames that do not complement your photos at all. Aside from this, sunlight can also cause your photos to fade, rendering them useless for showcasing and displaying and losing one of your treasured mementos.
If your
wooden photo frames are faded do not just throw them away. You can still revive them and add colour to them. Sand down the 6 x 4 photo frames using a medium grit sandpaper to take away any remnants of old varnish and paint. Once this is done you can then smooth the surface with low grit sandpaper, after which you can apply a fresh coat of varnish or paint in whatever colour you wish. Caring for your
6 x 4 photo frames can make them last for years and years, especially the ones that you treasure because they were given as gifts.
